Sending a message to users

Account admins can send important news and updates to users through C8.

Users will receive this notification in the News Feed section of their C8 dashboard. Users can also receive these messages on their mobile devices if they have enabled push notifications from our apps.

Not sure if you're an account admin? Read more about permissions here.

Follow the steps below to send a message.

  1. Click Communication Center in the left-hand menu
  2. (Optional) Select the intended Recipients

To send notifications to everyone in your institution, leave this field blank.

You can also send notifications only to users in specific departments, rotations, roles, and professions, as well as levels of training for residents and medical students. Click on each department, rotation, and more to select it — you can select as many as needed. All users within each selected category will receive the notification.

You can also send notifications to specific users — type their names or email address into the search bar or scroll to find them. Click on each user to add them. You can send notifications to multiple users, as well as add additional users when sending notifications to specific departments, rotations, and other categories.

  3. Name it in the Enter the title of the notification field
  4. Enter more information in the Content field. You can add up to 120 characters
  5. (Optional) Add a link in the Add a link (optional) field to redirect colleagues to a link
  6. (Optional) Use the toggles to set whether to Send as a push notification on mobile and whether to Show in news feed. The default for both is yes, though you can change one or both
  7. (Optional) Use the bottom toggle to choose to Send during working hours (7am-7pm) in your institution’s time zone. The default is for this feature to be turned off
  8. Click Send Notification
